The Taber Police Service is committed to informing, involving and protecting the Town of Taber. A key component of this commitment is the police officers who work closely with their community on a daily basis. Selecting the best candidates to become a police officer is essential to this commitment and the fundamental aim of the Recruiting Plan.
The Taber police service strongly believes community partnerships are at the core of enhancing the quality of life within the community. Sir Robert Peel said, ‘The police are the people and the people are the police’. For the Taber Police Service to be an integral part of the community, it must be representative of the demographic (ethic and gender) composition of the community it serves.
