Proposed Bylaw 7- 2026 - Land Use Bylaw Text Amendment

What is Bylaw 7-2026?
The purpose of Bylaw 7-2026 is to address changes in policy and regulation, clerical errors and other items not previously addressed in the Land Use Bylaw.
The proposed text amendments to the Land Use Bylaw include the following:
1. Updating the references to the Municipal Planning Commission to be the Development Authority;
2. Update the development permit application notification and decision processes
3. Remove Home Occupation 1 from being exempt from development permits;
4. The addition of a use definition for Net Density;
5. Clerical amendments.

How Do I Provide Input?
In person: You can give input on the proposed bylaw at the public hearing on March 9, 2026
Virtually: If you cannot attend the public hearing in person you can register to provide your input virtually. You must register by emailing town@taber.ca no later than noon on March 9, 2026.
Written comments can be provided to Town Council and will form part of the public record and will be included in the report to Council. Written comments must be submitted to the Town Office or by email to planning@taber.ca no later than 4:30pm on March 2, 2026.
