The deadline for Municipal Grant Applications submissions is Friday, August 7, 2026 at 4:30 PM.

In accordance with program guidelines, no extensions will be provided, and applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed.

Registered non-profit organizations or societies that are registered and in good standing with the Province of Alberta, which reside, operate and serve the residents of the Town of Taber for at least two years.

Applicants must be community related organizations in the areas of:

• Arts
• Culture
• Heritage
• Environment
• Social services/wellbeing
• Community Spirit

Hospitals, schools, and post-secondary institutions are not eligible to apply for municipal grant funding.

 For sports, athletics, leisure, and recreation groups, please apply to the Community Grant Program instead (deadline is October 15th annually).

It is at the discretion of the Town of Taber Council to award a grant to Community Related Organizations.  An organization may be considered CRO eligible if meets the following criteria:

• Organizational Status
  • Registered non-profit society, charitable organization, or publicly accountable entity
  • Operates a non-profit basis, with any surplus funds reinvested into its programs or services
• Community Benefit
  • Provides a clear and demonstrated benefit to residents of the Town of Taber
  • Aligns with Council priorities, strategic objectives, or community outcomes
• Local Connection
  • Is based in the Town or provides significant services with the Town
  • Demonstrates that a majority of its programming or service delivery benefits Taber residents
• Governance and Accountability
  • Has an established governance structure (e.g., board of directors)
  • Demonstrates sound financial management practices, include regular financial reporting
• Financial Need and Use of Funds
  • Clearly articulates the intended use of any municipal grant funding

Operating municipal grant funding would support:

• Costs to deliver recurring ongoing programming
• Costs to deliver a recurring established community event or festival
• Basic organizational and operations costs
• Facility operating expenses or an organization that operates their own building

Applicants may be invited to present their municipal grant funding requests to Council.

These presentations provide an opportunity for organizations to showcase their programs and services, outline their budget needs, and demonstrate how municipal grant funding would support their operations and benefit the community. The Town of Taber would work with the applicants to schedule a date and time. Applicants may be requested to provide a presentation ahead of the Council meeting. 

• The Town of Taber does one intake for Municipal Grant Funding per year.  
• The grant applications are competitive, and eligibility does not guarantee funding. 
• Grants will be awarded based on the number of eligible applicants and available funding.
