Thank You for Participating in the 2026 Budget Input Process

The Town of Taber would like to thank everyone who took part in our first-ever budget public participation this past August and September. We received many great ideas from the community and shared them with Council at their September 23rd Special Council Meeting.

Out of 38 ideas submitted, 8 were approved by Council to move forward for budget development. This means Town staff will research costs, logistics, and other details. That research will then be brought back to Council in late 2025 as part of the 2026 Budget process, where Council will make final decisions.

The 8 ideas moving forward for more research are:

  • Paving Trout Pond Road
  •  Lane additions in various road locations
  • Community benches
  • Accessibility for spectators at Ken McDonald Ball Diamonds
  • Clean community initiatives
  • Cat control measures
  • Large item waste pickups
  • Spring appliance & furniture roundup

If your idea was not referred this time, it may still be considered in future years or in other ways. There will also be an opportunity to submit ideas again each budget season. Thank you for participating in our budget engagement process!
