Taber’s urban forest is growing.
Last year alone, the Town planted 500 new trees across our parks and streets. Trees provide shade on hot days, help clean the air, reduce wind, support wildlife, and make our neighbourhoods more welcoming.
Now, we are developing an Urban Forestry Management Plan to guide how the Town cares for, grows, and invests in public trees for the next 25 years and beyond.
This plan will help answer important questions, including:
- Where should we plant new trees?
- How do we protect and maintain the trees we already have?
- What types of trees are best suited for Taber’s climate?
- How do we plan for long term replacement and growth?
Before the plan is finalized, we want to hear from you!
Our short five minute survey will help us understand community priorities when it comes to trees in public spaces such as parks, boulevards, and pathways.
The survey is open until March 31.
Your feedback will help shape the future of Taber’s urban forest for decades to come!
