A case of bird flu has been found in the MD of Taber.
The Town of Taber is not part of this case, but we are sharing this because we are surrounded by the MD. Wild birds travel through our ponds and wetlands during migration, so people in town may notice sick or dead birds.
If you find a dead bird:
• Do not touch it
• Keep kids and pets back
• Report it to Alberta Fish and Wildlife at 310-0000
Backyard bird owners:
Keep wild birds away, clean often, and watch for sudden illness. Call a vet and report to the CFIA if needed.
This helps protect birds across our whole region.
