The Town of Taber Bylaw Enforcement department is responsible for ensuring that the community and visitors comply with existing Bylaws. Information on the Land Use Bylaw is available on our Planning for Growth page.

Cat Licensing and Control Bylaw No. 3-2003

Taber has a bylaw in place for the licensing and control of cats. All cats over 6 months of age are required to be licensed. Special licensing requirements exist for those who raise cats for sale and those who temporarily house extra cats.

Cat Licensing Fees

• Spayed/neutered Cat $15.00
• Unaltered Cat $85.00
• Kennel Permit $400.00
• Cat Fancier Permit $100.00

Dog Licensing and Control Bylaw No. 3-2008

Taber has a bylaw in place for the licensing and control of dogs. All dogs over 6 months of age are required to be licensed. The only dogs that require special licensing, are dogs that are deemed “aggressive” by a bylaw officer (if they have attacked or bitten a person, etc). Please contact the Town Office or the Bylaw Enforcement Officer for those particulars.

Dog Licensing Fees

• Male/Female spayed/neutered $25.00/yr
• Male/Female unspayed/unneutered $50.00/yr
