  1. Novice Pheasant Hunts

    October 18, 9:00 AM - October 19, 10:00 PM

    Novice hunters must have a valid game bird and pheasant license to participate. The first weekend is all about new hunters. Activities include: Novice instruction Novice hunts On October 18 & 19, new hunters can learn gun safety, shoot clay targets, and receive shooting instruction from mentors. After the instruction, novice hunters will have an opportunity to hunt pheasants with a mentor.

  2. Main Pheasant Hunt

    October 20, 9:00 AM - October 25, 9:00 PM

    We’ll release 4,000 pheasants on 30 sites, all within an hour’s drive from Taber. Here’s what you need to know before registering: 1.Hunters must reserve a hunting time and location to ensure a quality experience. 2.Up to four hunters are allowed on each release site for either a morning (sunrise until 1:00 pm) or an afternoon (1:00 pm until sunset). 3.You can only reserve one hunting time per day, but up to three times for the week. 4.Reserve your pheasant hunt site online (the best way), June 2 at 9 am SHARP. 5.You can also call 1-877-969-9091 (in Alberta) or 1-780-410-1999 (outside Alberta) to register, starting June 2 at 9 am. Be ready to provide your name and the names of the other hunters in your party. IMPORTANT! If the line is busy, PLEASE leave a message. NOTE: All hunters require a game bird license and a pheasant license.

  3. Pheasant Hunt Celebration Banquet

    October 23, 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM @ Heritage Inn 4830 46 Avenue, Hwy #3, Taber, AB

    On Thursday, October 23rd, join us at the Taber Community Centre for the Pheasant Festival Dinner and Silent Auction sponsored by the Taber Heritage Inn. Celebrate a successful festival and thank the participating landowners and sponsors. Door prizes and a silent auction raise funds for next year’s festival.   4. Bird Dog Seminar

    October 24, 7:00 PM - October 25, 11:30 AM

    Join legendary bird dog trainer Richard (Rick) Delmar Smith at a special presentation at the 2014 Taber Pheasant Festival. Pointers, flushers and retrievers – when it comes to hunting with your dog, Rick will share 44 years of knowledge and experience working with different dog breeds. Gain insight on training methods, dog nutrition, gun shyness, water work, blinds, tracking, young dogs vs. old dogs and much more! Dates, times and locations: Friday, October 24th. Indoor session: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Location: Taber, TBA. Saturday, October 25th Field demo: 10:00 a.m. Location: Near Vauxhall. This presentation is open to the public. You must register in advance, by calling 1-877-969-9091.
